Stole this from ~Bladebitch (who got it from someone else)

3. Pics should be of own artistic ability. You may not edit photos, or break any other rules set out in the Da etiquette policy. Your pics can be anything from sketches and doodles to great master pieces. Just have fun with it.

Birthday ^^

Thu Mar 19, 2009, 8:53 AM
Today's my birthday  though I won't celebrate it until later, but I've still got some birthday gifts:

*A "Hello saferide"-CD from my sister (It's good! If you never heard Hello saferide [link] you should check her/them out!)

*Five promarkers from :iconbladebitch: :w00t:. I promise to do a picture with them as soon as I get time =D (which is either tomorrow or after the weekend)

And today my degree project for my Bachelor's degree started :O It will be superfun, but I'm a little bit nervous, because I still don't know which project I will work on. (There's some safety issues with my first hand choice, since I will be doing it alone and boats are involved...)

The End of Mr Y

Sun Jan 4, 2009, 11:50 AM
Today I finished reading The End of Mr Y written by Scarlett Thomas and I feel kind of empty as you do when you finish a really good book.

When I bought it I was hunting for a book not written by the authors I usually read, but it's hard, because I got the feeling that's there's a lot of crap in the shelves for sci-fi and fantasy (wich are almost the only thing read. The decision to buy it was determined not by the content, but on the looks: It has one of the coolest cover ever! [link]

And the cover kept it's promise: it was a cool book, well, at least the second half of it, though the first half was good.

It's a story told by Ariel Manto, who works at a university in England. It starts when a building collapses at the university and she has to walk home and finds an antiquarian bookshop and in it she finds the infamous book "The End of Mr Y". The book is said to have a curse: whoever reads it will die. Of course she reads it and after that the wheels starts turning.

I can't tell much more of the story synopsis without spoiling anything but it was a thrilling and interesting book. Except for leaving me with an empty feeling, it also left an akward feeling because it would be very wierd if the world worked in the way desccribed in the book, but it still not improbable...

If you want to read a very original story I really recommend The End of Mr Y.

*End of book rant*

So, it felt good to rant about the boook, because it really made an impression on me.

Hope you all had a good start of 2009 (omg, that's the first time I write 2009 this side of the New Year :O)

A small update

Sat Nov 1, 2008, 1:53 PM
So, I thought it was an good idea to update my journal since I'm pretty much out from the art block and have been so for a while :w00t:

There's not much interesting stuff going on in my life right now. I go to school, train kendo about 4-9 hours a week (but my training is threatened by my legs: they hurts :ohnoes:) and I've started to become a trainer on the junior trainings.

I'm also on an ongoing project to keep chaos out from my apartment (sometimes less successful...)and keep the time at the computer down (also less successful sometimes...)

I don't take a lot of time to draw, write or do other creative stuff, but then again, I've never have...

But I'll try to finish some pictures I'm working on and try to do some new ones also.

Now I'll end this journal :salute:

(To all Swedish people who likes fantasy or just weird things, try this game: [link] WebTorkel)

Art block

Mon Jul 21, 2008, 12:07 PM
I'm in a complete art block right now, I cant even draw a sketch...

I had this block pretty long and the only thing that seems to (almosst)work right now is storytelling and planning of roleplaying game (wich is a kind of storytelling)

So I won't have my "to do-list" in this journal, because it just makes me depressed ;) But don't think I have forgot about it.

(I tried to work on my piece to ~jenniology but this computer is to slow to cope with the big size)

Btw, Dr Horrible's sing-along blog is the best thing ever, I hope the DVD comes out soon ^^

  • Mood: Stuck
  • Listening to: Dr Horrible's sing-alog blog
  • Reading: Everything I don't have time for in the semesters
  • Playing: No more Zelda =(
  • Drinking: Green Tea
